Quilting Arts: In Stitches, volume 6

 Hi everyone,
Just wanted to tell everyone about my article in the latest issue of Quilting Arts in Stitches,Volume 6. The issue  is jam-packed with great free-motion tips, unique ways to incorporate stitching into your work (think shaped leaves!), and even a bit of history about stitching. My article is called Leaves, Leaves, Leaves and it is about my technique for shaping my quilted leaves. Working with the team at Quilting Arts on this was fun and I think the whole issue is very interesting.  I would encourage you to download it either from the store or through iTunes on your iPad. (see store link below)

As a bonus, for the In Stitches VI blog tour we are giving away some free-motion tools at each spot. The tools are featured in an article entitled “show of hands” and were all taken out of their packaging for photography reasons, but are brand new!

For this post, I am giving away the nifty Sew Grip Ergonomic Quilting Gloves by FA Edmunds. To win, comment at the end of the blog letting me know what kind of article you would like to see in a future In Stitches eMag.

Want to learn more about the eMag before you purchase it? Join us on the In Stitches VI blog tour all this week (there will be a prize given away at every stop)! Here is the lineup of blogs for the whole week.   Even if you get this on Wednesday you can go visit the earlier blogs and see what they have to say! Tomorrow visit Nancy Cook's blog. Her article is about Dense Echo Quilting.

  1. Great series and look forward to learning about your leaves! For future issues, I am a novice at machine quilting, so welcome any info on free motion with a home machine, particularly on larger quilts. Thanks for the chance to win the gloves--I can use all the help I can get:)

  2. I enjoyed your article and process for recreating leaves. I wish there had been a photo of the assembled leaves. Your water series is stunning.

  3. I haven't viewed an actual In Stitches, so can't offer suggestions for articles. But I've been excited by glimpses you and others have provided.

  4. Just love seeing your work and hope I can produce something even half as good. The gloves look like they would be a big help.
