Ice patterns

It has been a day of changeable weather- ice, wind, rain, snow. One of the outcomes has been some very interesting images created by the elements. I threw rock salt out on the driveway and front walk and the salt made holes in the ice that then let the rain in or caused the ice to crack! Fascinating what nature can create.

Blog Start Up on January 1, 2010

I have committed to a daily practice of posting thoughts and images on this blog.  As the title indiciates it is about Reflections: Observations on Art, Nature and Life. That ought to give me lots to write about or to photograph and to explore.  My past daily creative practices have included a variety of approaches. I am looking forward to doing it again in this new format. More to come.


For today - take a look at the ice encased vine that I saw yesterday. It is hard to imagine how this little vine stem can support the inches of ice that it is holding!
