Another pink sunrise
There is not a time of day that I don't enjoy looking at the mountains here, but I seem to be up earlier then ever so I see the sun come over the mountains every morning. And the chances are good that there will be sunshine everyday so there is always something to see happening.

Summer nights
Last night the sky was a vivid pink to violet as the sun set behind the trees. I tried several photos and camera settings but nothing quite captures the glow that the sky had at the time. Adding to the experience was the scent of the lilacs that are in bloom next to where I was standing. These are the moments I remember about summer nights.

The end of the amaryllis
The amaryllis blossoms are coming to an end. Drooping and curling up. But for one week they were glorious! On to a new subject tomorrow.

Amaryllis blossoms
A couple more photos of the amaryllis bulb in flower. I think it is such an amazing plant - all that energy packed into the bulb, the stalk grows so fast and then the flower bursts open into this stunning image.

Amaryllis flowering
Posting the tulip photo yesterday reminded me of photos I took last year while my amaryllis bulb came into flower and then withered and died. I will post the sequence over the next couple of days. Recording things like that really help you learn to look closely at what is happening around you.
